This 13 day unit from the Introduction to AFNR Course focuses on introducing students to careers in the animal science field, as well as animal terminology, identification methods used by farmers and ranchers, external anatomy parts of livestock and common livestock breeds within animal agriculture. Through interactive activities and review games, students will be able to build the foundation for their animal science knowledge.
Lessons contain all of the resources necessary to successfully deliver the curriculum. Through detailed Instructor Guides, teachers will feel comfortable, no matter their experience, in teaching this unit. Instructor Guides include material lists, time breakdown for the lesson, national standards, instructor pre-work, and an explanation of each component of the lesson, including reflection and conclusion questions/answers.
