This 16-day Hydraulics and Pneumatics Unit from the Agricultural Mechanics Course focuses on the hydraulics and pneumatics career pathways. Students will identify components of a hydraulic and pneumatic system, calculate pressure and force using Pascal's Law, learn how to interpret hydraulic schematics, and identify safety concerns involved with hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Students will also complete several hands-on projects, including a pneumatic grain drill model, a hydraulic braking system model, and a hydraulic crane model using syringes and plastic tubing.
This comprehensive curriculum is designed to have every minute of every lesson planned for you. Lessons contain all of the resources necessary to successfully deliver this engaging curriculum. Through detailed Instructor Guides, teachers will feel comfortable, no matter their experience, in teaching this course. Instructor Guides include material lists, a time breakdown for each lesson designed to fill a 45 minute class period, national AFNR standards, instructor pre-work, and an explanation of each component of the lessons, including reflection and conclusion questions/answers. Instructor Resources include all handouts, visuals, keys and slides teachers need to facilitate learning in the classroom. Lessons also include a Student Handout to allow students to further engage in the lessons.
