This 12 day unit from the Introduction to AFNR Course focuses on introducing students to diseases, parasites and disease transmission. Students will learn about biosecurity practices to minimize the spread of diseases and will learn the proper procedures to administer vaccinations to livestock and companion animals.

Lessons contain all of the resources necessary to successfully deliver the curriculum. Through detailed Instructor Guides, teachers will feel comfortable, no matter their experience, in teaching this unit. Instructor Guides include material lists, time breakdown for the lesson, national standards, instructor pre-work, and an explanation of each component of the lesson, including reflection and conclusion questions/answers.
